International Age Group Invitational Meet

Wilson County Trio Compete in Ft Lauderdale Swim Meet

June 23, 2008…. Three boys from Wilson County participated in the Ft Lauderdale Aquatics International Age Group Invitational Swim Meet this past weekend in Florida. Lebanon’s Bradley Gillilan joined Mt Juliet’s Alek Nochowicz and Taylor Wallace at the meet, representing Excel Aquatics.

Teams from Latin America joined teams from Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Louisiana, and South Carolina at the meet which was held at the International Swimming Hall of Fame pool complex.

Wallace, a rising Junior at Mt Juliet High School, swam the 400 Meter Individual Medley (IM), 200 Meter Freestyle, 100 Meter Butterfly, 50 Meter Breaststroke, 100 Meter Breaststroke, 50 Meter Butterfly, 100 Meter Backstroke, 100 Meter Freestyle, and 200 Meter IM.

Nochowicz, a rising Junior at Pope John Paul II High School, competed in the 1500 Meter Freestyle, 200 Meter Freestyle, 100 Meter Freestyle, 50 Meter Freestyle, 50 Meter Backstroke, 100 Meter Backstroke, 200 Meter Backstroke, and the 200 Meter IM.

Gillilan is a rising Junior at Lebanon High School, and he made an impact in the 1500 Meter Freestyle, placing 2nd in the 15&16 Year Old Boys category; and 6th in the 400 Meter Freestyle, placing 6th. Gillilan also swam in the 200 Meter Freestyle, 100 Meter Backstroke, 200 Meter Breaststroke, 200 Meter IM, 100 Meter Breaststroke, 200 Meter Backstroke, and 200 Meter Butterfly.
